What is Delestrogen?
Delestrogen is an injectable prescription drug used to treat symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, burning, or irritation. It is also used to treat a lack of estrogen that is caused by ovarian failure or a condition called hypogonadism. This injection may also be used to treat certain symptoms of prostate cancer but does not treat cancer. Delestrogen is not for you if you have undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, liver disease, if you will have major surgery, or if you have ever had a heart attack, a stroke, a blood clot, or cancer of the breast, uterus/cervix, or vagina if you are pregnant.
Before taking this drug to let your doctor know if you have a high level of calcium in the blood, have had a hysterectomy have a protein C or S deficiency, heart disease, liver problems, or jaundice caused by pregnancy or taking hormones, thyroid disorder, gallbladder disease or kidney disease.
Delestrogen is injected into a muscle and usually given once every 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the condition being treated. Your doctor or healthcare provider will instruct you on how to properly use the medication by yourself.
What are the side effects of Delestrogen?
