It is approved to treat osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in adults, as well as juvenile rheumatoid arthritis in children who weigh around 130 pounds (60 kg) or more. Meloxicam works by blocking the production of certain substances that cause pain and inflammation in the body. 

Meloxicam comes in the form of 7.5 mg and 15 mg oral tablets that can be taken with or without food. It is also available as a 5 mg or 10 mg capsule and a 7.5 mg/5 mL oral suspension. 

What are the side effects of Meloxicam?

The most common side effects of Meloxicam include an upset stomach, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, and symptoms of the common cold or flu. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you experience any side effects, especially if they persist or get worse.

Meloxicam may increase the risk of stroke or heart attack, especially in people who have heart disease, use this medication long term, or use it in high doses.
