What is Ancobon?
This medication is used to treat serious fungal infections in the body. It belongs to a class of drugs known as antifungals. Ancobon is usually used along with other medications such as amphotericin B. The active ingredient in this medication is flucytosine. It works by slowing the growth of certain types of bacteria.
This FDA-approved drug is available in the form of an oral capsule and is usually taken four times a day, once every six hours, or as directed by your doctor. To reduce an upset stomach, do not swallow all of the capsules for one dose at the same time.
