What is Amphotericin B?
Amphotericin B is an antifungal medication used to treat a variety of serious, possibly fatal fungal infections. It works by stopping the growth of fungi. It should be noted that this drug is not for use in treating a minor fungal infection such as a yeast infection of the mouth, esophagus, or vagina.
If you have heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, electrolyte imbalance (such as low levels of potassium or magnesium in your blood), if you are receiving blood transfusions, or if you are receiving radiation treatments then inform your doctor right away before taking Amphotericin B.
