Active Fe is a brand-name prescription supplement intended to prevent or address iron deficiency. The active ingredients in Active Fe are iron (carbonyl iron), as well as vitamins A, C, D, E, and most vitamin B complexes. Carbonyl iron is nearly pure iron–about 97.5% iron–rather than an iron salt or iron combined with amino acids or carbohydrates.
