What is Folgard Rx?
Folgard Rx is a prescription medication that provides vitamin B-6, vitamin B-12, and folic acid to people who do not have enough of these vitamins for good health. Folgard Rx is supplied as an oral tablet, each tablet contains 2.2 mg Folic Acid, 25 mg Vitamin B-6(as pyridoxine HCl) and 1 mg Vitamin B-12 (as cyanocobalamin). Other ingredients found in this product include calcium phosphate dibasic, carnauba wax, citric acid, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium citrate, sodium starch glycolate, stearic acid, and titanium dioxide.
Typically, before taking Folgard Rx your doctor should know about all your medical conditions and all the medicines you use. Once your healthcare provider has recommended Folgard Rx for you, avoid taking any other multivitamin products within 2 hours before or after you take your prenatal multivitamins. Taking similar vitamin products together at the same time can result in a vitamin overdose or serious side effects. Do not take this medication with milk, other dairy products, calcium supplements, or antacids that contain calcium. Calcium may make it harder for your body to absorb certain ingredients of the multivitamin.
