What is Tinactin?
Tinactin is a generic antifungal medication used to treat infections caused by a fungus such as athlete's foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), and ringworm (tinea corporis). It can also be used along with other antifungals to treat nail, scalp, and palm infections. The active ingredient in Tinactin is tolnaftate which works by preventing the growth of fungus.
Tinactin comes in the form of a 1% aerosol spray meant for use on the skin alone. Do not use this product on open wounds or on sunburned, dry, chapped, or irritated skin.
