Low levels of thyroid hormone can occur naturally or when your thyroid gland is injured by radiation or medication or removed by surgery. Sufficient levels of thyroid hormone are essential for maintaining normal mental and physical development. 

The active ingredient in this medication is levothyroxine sodium.

What doses of Euthyrox are available?

Euthyrox is available in the form of an oral tablet and is usually taken once daily or as directed by your doctor. This medication should be taken on an empty stomach with a full glass of water 30 minutes to one hour before breakfast or any other medications.

Euthyrox is available in the following strengths: 25 mcg, 50 mcg, 75 mcg, 88 mcg, 100 mcg, 112 mcg, 125 mcg, 137 mcg, 150 mcg, 175 mcg, and 200 mcg. Your doctor will recommend an appropriate dose for you based on an assessment of your current medical condition, other drugs you are currently taking, and your response to treatment.
