What is Daysee?
Daysee is an oral combination drug that contains estrogen and progestin. These female hormones work to keep the pregnancy from happening by preventing ovulation, the release of an egg from an ovary during your menstrual cycle. This prescription drug also causes changes in your cervical mucus such as thickening vaginal fluid and to the lining of the uterus (womb) to prevent attachment of a fertilized egg. This makes it difficult for sperm to reach the uterus and harder for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus. A fertilized egg will be passed out of the body if it is not attached to the uterus.
Daysee is available in the form of a pill that is taken once a day, with no more than 24 hours apart. Pregnancy may occur if the pill is not taken every day. It is recommended to take two pills on the day that you remember if you miss one active pill. Your first Daysee pill is used on the first day of your period or on the first Sunday after your period begins. Daysee will cause your period to occur once every twelve weeks, or once every three months. While taking birth control pills, you will need to visit your doctor regularly. Contact your doctor for medical advice. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully while using Daysee.
