What is Kaitlib Fe?
Kaitlib Fe is an FDA-approved generic women's prescription birth control pill. The active ingredients are two naturally-occurring hormones: ethinyl estradiol (an estrogen) and norethindrone (a progestin). Kaitlib Fe prevents the monthly release of an egg from the ovaries. It also alters the linings of both the cervix and uterus to impede the movement of sperm and prevent implantation of a fertilized egg.
Kaitlib Fe is taken in a 28-day sequence. It is a “monophasic” oral contraceptive, that is, the dosage never changes for 24 days in the 28-day sequence. The final 4 tablets taken at the end of the menstrual cycle, however, are placebos that also contain a small amount of iron (ferrous fumarate) to help compensate for iron and blood loss during menstruation.
What are the side effects of Kaitlib Fe?
Common side effects of Kaitlib Fe include but are not limited to breast tenderness, menstrual changes, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, water retention, and headache. Allergic reactions to Kaitlib Fe are extremely rare but include rashes and hives. Mood changes are often reported: mood swings, depression, and decreased sex drive.
