What is Camrese Lo?
Camrese Lo is a prescription birth control pill for women. It delivers two naturally-occurring hormones: ethinyl estradiol, an estrogen, and levonorgestrel, a progestin. Taken together, these hormones prevent ovulation, the monthly release of an egg from the ovaries. Camrese Lo also alters the linings of both the cervix and uterus. Because of this, sperm has difficulty traveling along these linings and a fertilized egg has difficulty implanting on the uterine wall.
Camrese Lo is a “monophasic” oral contraceptive taken in a 28-day sequence at a single daily dosage for 21 days. The final 7 tablets taken at the end of the 28-day cycle are placebos.
