What is Covaryx Hs?
Covaryx Hs is a short-term hormone-replacement therapy prescribed that relieves the blood pressure (vasomotor) symptoms of menopause, such as hot flashes, night sweats, and flushes. These are caused by a region in the brain, the vasomotor center, that regulates blood pressure. The decrease in estrogens in the body results in an inability of the vasomotor center to keep blood pressure consistent.
The active ingredients are a mix of estrogens (esterified estrogens) and a male hormone (methyltestosterone), both of which alleviate the symptoms of reduced hormone production during menopause. Esterified estrogens are derived from plants. Covaryx Hs is not intended to prevent bone loss (osteoporosis) as a result of menopause.
Moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms as a result of menopause are not improved by hormone replacement therapy alone.
