What is Zinc Oxide?
Zinc Oxide is a topical medication used to treat and prevent diaper rash and other minor skin irritations such as burns, cuts, and scrapes. Zinc Oxide rectal suppositories are also used to treat burning, itching, irritation, and other rectal discomforts caused by painful bowel movements and hemorrhoids. This medication works by forming a barrier on the skin to protect it from irritants and moisture.
The topical version of this medication is meant for use on the skin only. Follow all directions on the product packaging or use as directed by your physician. Wash and dry the affected area before applying Zinc Oxide. Apply a thin layer of Zinc Oxide to the affected area and rub in gently.
