What is Avenova?
Avenova is taken to maintain eyelid and eyelash hygiene in patients affected with blepharitis and meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD). Blepharitis is an inflammatory eye condition that is commonly associated with rosacea and seborrheic dermatitis. Blepharitis causes the eyelids to be crusty and red. Some other symptoms of blepharitis include burning or pain, along with watery eyes.
Meibomian gland dysfunction causes the eye to secrete less oil into tears. When this occurs, your eyes can become dry. This condition is often referred to as dry eye syndrome.
Avenova provides relief to the eyelid and eyelashes with its active ingredients. Neutrox is the active ingredient in Avenova that contains hypochlorous acid. Hypochlorous acid is naturally produced by white blood cells to fight off infections. In Avenova, hypochlorous is a small, pure microbial compound that eliminates bacteria, fungi, and viral infections around the eye region. When applied onto the eyelid or eyelashes, Avenova is absorbed into the bacterial biofilm of the affected eye region to reduce inflammation.
