Oxaliplatin is a platinum-based drug that is used in combination with other chemotherapy drugs to treat cancer of the colon and rectum (colorectal cancer). Oxaliplatin works by blocking the production and replication of DNA, which stops cancer cells from dividing and growing. Oxaliplatin is administered by a healthcare professional as an intravenous infusion. The cost of Oxaliplatin is normally $1,665.61 at full retail price. A SingleCare Oxaliplatin coupon may reduce that price to $517.26. Ask the clinic or hospital where you receive your Oxaliplatin infusion if they will accept a SingleCare Oxaliplatin coupon.

Oxaliplatin costs an average cash price of $1,665.61 for uninsured customers. A SingleCare Oxaliplatin prescription discount card means you could pay our lowest price of $517.26 for the same infusion if the hospital or clinic where you receive it will accept SingleCare.
Your copay for Oxaliplatin with insurance will vary depending on your plan and the costs indicated by the hospital or clinic where you get your infusion. However, Oxaliplatin may be covered by your health insurance as a medical benefit rather than a prescription drug benefit. Ask the clinic or hospital where you receive Oxaliplatin infusions if they will accept a SingleCare Oxaliplatin coupon. If they do, the price of Oxaliplatin could be $517.26.
Oxaliplatin is usually not covered under Medicare prescription drug plans, but may be covered under Medicare Part B as a medical benefit. Ask the clinic or hospital where you receive Oxaliplatin infusions if they will accept a SingleCare Oxaliplatin prescription savings card; you could pay only $517.26.
Oxaliplatin is a generic chemotherapy drug. The brand-name version of Oxaliplatin is Eloxatin. Search the SingleCare website or app for Eloxatin for more information or valuable savings opportunities for the brand-name version.
Oxaliplatin is a platinum-based prescription drug that is used in combination with fluorouracil and leucovorin to treat advanced colorectal cancer or stage 3 colorectal cancer after the tumor has been surgically removed. Colorectal cancer starts on the inside of the colon as polyps and, if it begins to grow out of control, may spread to the inner areas of the colon and the rest of the body. Stage 3 colorectal cancer is characterized by the spread of the cancer deep into the colon's tissues and nearby lymph nodes. Advanced colorectal cancer has spread locally or throughout the body to the point where surgical removal will not effectively cure the cancer.
Oxaliplatin interrupts the synthesis and replication of DNA, which is vital for the cancer cell and its ability to divide. By disrupting the DNA in cancer cells, Oxaliplatin kills cancer cells and prevents them from growing.
Oxaliplatin is given as an intravenous infusion once every two weeks until progress has been made against the cancer. Treatment may also continue until it has become too intolerable.
The most common side effects of Oxaliplatin include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, mouth sores, and numbness, pain, tingling, or burning sensation in the nerves. Oxaliplatin may also cause changes in blood cell counts, such as low white blood cell, platelet, and red blood cell counts. The use of Oxaliplatin may lead to changes in liver function tests.
Serious side effects of Oxaliplatin include heart problems, lung disease, liver problems, muscle problems, bleeding problems, infections, and nerve problems. In rare cases, Oxaliplatin may cause posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES), which can cause signs and symptoms like headache, seizures, vision problems, and confusion. Seek medical attention if you experience any of these side effects.
Allergic reactions are possible with Oxaliplatin. These reactions may happen within minutes after the start of the infusion. You will be monitored by a healthcare professional while the infusion is being performed and will remain under observation afterward, but you should immediately tell your doctor if you experience any sign of an allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing, hives, rash, itching, dizziness, or faintness.
This is not a complete list of side effects. Consult your doctor or healthcare professional for additional information and medical advice regarding other possible side effects or drug interactions. You can report negative side effects to the FDA.
