The result is a slowing down or suppression of the body’s immune response in order to decrease inflammation. Xeljanz Xr can treat rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and ulcerative colitis. Xeljanz Xr is prescribed to rheumatoid arthritis patients who have not responded to methotrexate, a less-expensive immune suppressant.
