To use Symbicort, shake the inhaler for five seconds before each use. The inhaler may need to be primed if seven days have passed between uses. Priming the inhaler involves shaking the inhaler and spraying the inhaler two times into the air away from the face. 

Symbicort is often used two times per day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Symbicort must be used regularly to be effective.
