Uninsured customers pay an average retail price of $577.32 for Lamivudine. However, federal ADAP (AIDS Drug Assistance Program) will help uninsured HIV/AIDS patients with most or all of Lamivudine cost, and the HarborPath ADAP Waiting List Program may help patients with Lamivudine during ADAP funding shortfalls. For uninsured patients on the ADAP waiting list who still cannot affordably fill their prescription, a SingleCare Lamivudine coupon reduces the cost to $48.47.
Lamivudine copay costs may vary widely depending on your insurance plan. With SingleCare, Lamivudine costs $48.47 per 30, 300MG Tablet, which may be lower than your copay with your insurance company. So ask your local pharmacist to compare your insurance copay to the SingleCare prescription discount card.
Lamivudine is usually covered by Medicare prescription drug plans, but the brand-name version, Epivir, is not. Patients without coverage can turn to ADAP for assistance. For those on the ADAP waiting list who still cannot affordably fill their prescription, a SingleCare Lamivudine coupon reduces the cost of a Lamivudine prescription $48.47.
For HIV/AIDS patients, several programs are available to provide Lamivudine patient assistance.
Patients without health insurance should turn first to ADAP (AIDS Drug Assistance Program), a U.S. Department of Health program that provides medication funding for HIV/AIDS patients who have no other payer source. ADAP funds are administered by individual states, so contact your state department of health for information, eligibility, and applications.
Because of frequent funding shortfalls, there is often a waiting list for ADAP prescriptions depending on the state where you live. For those patients, HarborPath ADAP Waiting List Program offers Lamivudine and other HIV/AIDS drugs donated by the manufacturers for free or at low cost. Consult with your physician. Your physician will fill out the enrollment form, which also serves as your prescription.
Patients with insurance can find copay assistance through the Patient Access Network Foundation or the Good Days Program. Contact these organizations for information and enrollment forms.
The generic manufacturers of Lamivudine do not offer any Lamivudine manufacturer coupons, Lamivudine patient assistance programs, or Lamivudine copay prescription savings cards at this time.
For those who don't qualify for patient assistance, you can save money by using your SingleCare Lamivudine coupon at any major neighborhood pharmacy, such as Walmart, Kroger, Fry's, and many more. Our lowest price for Lamivudine is currently $48.47.
Lamivudine is a generic prescription drug manufactured by Mylan, Lupin, Aurobindo, and others. Lamivudine is also the active ingredient in the brand-name drug, Epivir, from ViiV Healthcare Company.
Lamivudine is a generic prescription drug used to control the virus that causes HIV/AIDS. HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is a “retrovirus.” Lamivudine belongs to a class of drugs called antiretrovirals. Lamivudine is always used in combination with other antiretroviral drugs.
Lamivudine helps prevent the HIV-1 virus from replicating. Because the HIV virus attacks and weakens the immune system, reducing the amount of HIV virus in the body helps prevent the opportunistic and life-threatening illnesses common to HIV/AIDS, such as pneumonia, tuberculosis, certain types of cancer, and other diseases.
Lamivudine is taken as a tablet or oral solution once or twice daily. If you have ever had hepatitis B, it may become active or become worse after you stop taking Lamivudine. Tell your doctor if you have new hepatitis symptoms. You should not take Epivir HBV (for the treatment of hepatitis B) if you take other medicine that contains Lamivudine or emtricitabine.
The most common side effects of Lamivudine are cough, runny nose, headache, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, “feeling bad” (malaise), problems sleeping, tired feeling, appetite loss, dizziness, stomach pain, muscle and joint pain, abnormal dreams, depression, and weakness and numbness in the hands and feet.
Allergic reactions are rare, but discontinue Lamivudine and get emergency medical attention if any allergic symptoms, such as rash, swelling, or trouble breathing, are experienced.
Lamivudine can cause serious or life-threatening effects on the liver or pancreas. Call your doctor right away if you have severe upper stomach pain, nausea, appetite loss, dark urine, clay-colored stools, or yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes.
This is not a complete list of side effects. Consult your doctor or healthcare professional for additional information and medical advice regarding other possible side effects or drug interactions. You can report negative side effects to the FDA.
