This medication comes in the form of an injectable intramuscular suspension and is available in a variety of strengths. Your doctor will decide on a dose that is appropriate for you based on your medical condition and your body's response to the medication. Invega Sustenna is usually injected into the muscle. This application should only be done by your healthcare professional. In most cases, Invega Sustenna is given once per month. This medication may increase the risk of death or developing Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome (NMS) when used to treat mental problems caused by dementia in elderly patients. Invega Sustenna is not meant for treating dementia-related psychosis.
