What is Baclofen?

Baclofen is a prescription muscle relaxer and antispasmodic agent that is used to treat muscle spasms associated with multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injuries, and spinal cord disorders. It can also help relieve pain and muscle stiffness, which are common symptoms of multiple sclerosis. Baclofen helps relax the muscles by slowing nerve cell communication. Baclofen can be taken as an oral tablet or injected as a solution into the fluid-filled space surrounding the spinal cord (intrathecal). 

Before you use Baclofen, tell your healthcare provider about any medical conditions you may have, especially if you have a history of kidney disease, ulcers, epilepsy or other seizure disorders, diabetes, mental disorders, hypertension, stroke, or blood clots.
