Glyburide can cost around $37.63 or sometimes more if you do not have insurance coverage. Using a SingleCare Glyburide coupon can help you to save on your prescription medication. Pay a cash price of $7.37 when you use your prescription discount card at local pharmacies such as CVS pharmacy, Walmart pharmacy, Kroger, and Walgreens.
You'll have to ask your pharmacist to calculate your Glyburide price with insurance since copays vary by health insurance plan. Take our Glyburide discount card to your local pharmacy to compare pricing and increase your prescription savings.
There are some Medicare plans that offer coverage for Glyburide. If you are under a plan that offers coverage then your copay might range between $1–$12. However, if your plan does not offer coverage then you can save on this prescription drug by using a SingleCare savings card. Glyburide tablets are only available in generic form. Former brand names include DiaBeta, Glynase Tablets, and Micronase.
Glyburide is used in combination with a proper diet and regular exercise to control high blood sugar in people with Type 2 diabetes. Glyburide can be used together with other diabetes medications. Controlling your high blood sugar assists in preventing kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Adequate control of diabetes may also reduce your chances of a heart attack or stroke. Glyburide belongs to the class of drugs known as sulfonylureas and it works by lowering your blood sugar by causing the release of your body's natural insulin by the beta cells located in the pancreas. If you are being treated with bosentan (Tracleer), or if you have diabetic ketoacidosis then you should not use Glyburide. It should be noted that Glyburide is not for treating Type 1 diabetes. Before taking Glyburide, tell your doctor if you are allergic to sulfa drugs, if you have been using insulin or chlorpropamide (Diabinese), or if you have hemolytic anemia (a lack of red blood cells), an enzyme deficiency (G6PD), a nerve disorder, liver disease, or kidney disease.
Common side effects of Glyburide include hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), nausea, heartburn, feeling full, muscle or joint pain, blurred vision, or mild rash or skin redness. Side effects like dark urine, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), severe skin rash, redness, or itching, pale skin, easy bruising or bleeding, fever, chills, sore throat, mouth sores, or low levels of sodium in the body, headache, confusion, slurred speech, severe weakness, vomiting, loss of coordination, or feeling unsteady are more serious and should be treated immediately. See your doctor if you experience any of these side effects. This is an incomplete list of side effects so speak to your doctor for medical advice about other side effects that can occur. You may also report side effects to the FDA.
