Edarbyclor is a brand name of azilsartan medoxomil/chlorthalidone that's manufactured by Arbor Pharmaceuticals LLC. There is currently no FDA-approved, generic alternatives of Edarbyclor available on the market.
Edarbyclor is a prescription two-in-one pill that treats high blood pressure in adults, consisting of azilsartan and chlorthalidone. The azilsartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker that keeps your blood vessels from narrowing. This will lower your blood pressure and improve your blood flow. The next drug, chlorthalidone, is a water pill that prevents your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention.
Your healthcare provider will advise you on how to use Edarbyclor. Normally, it is recommended that you start using a 40/12.5 mg dose of Edarbyclor, which is taken orally once daily. In about one to two weeks, the effects of antihypertensive are typically noticeable. After two weeks, the dosage may be increased to 40/25 mg or as needed to achieve your blood pressure goals.
Some but not all side effects of Edarbyclor include confusion, fainting, blurred vision, dry mouth, loss of appetite, cramps, unusual weakness, sweating, and increased thirst. You will need to seek medical advice if you have health conditions like heart problems, gout, liver or kidney problems. Sometimes, it is found that kidney problems get worse in people who have a kidney disease prior to taking Edarbyclor.
Contact your doctor if you have any concerns or if these side effects worsen while using Edarbyclor. You are also advised to call the FDA to report any negative side effects or experiences while using this drug.
Talk to your doctor about discontinuing the use of Edarbyclor if pregnancy is detected, as this prescription drug can cause death or injury to the developing fetus. You cannot use Edarbyclor while you are breastfeeding. Advise your doctor about any prescription medications you are currently taking before using Edarbyclor. Additionally, your healthcare provider may suggest healthy changes you can make to help lower your blood pressure.
