Repatha is made by the pharmaceutical company Amgen and is available as single-dose syringes, single-dose autoinjectors, and the single-dose Pushtronex on-body injector with prefilled cartridge.
Repatha is classified as a monoclonal antibody and a PCSK9 (proprotein convertase subtilisin kexin type 9) inhibitor. It works by inhibiting an enzyme called PCSK9, which increases the number of LDL receptors on the surface of the liver. This results in the removal of LDL cholesterol.
