If you have a health insurance plan, the Nuvigil price would be based specifically on your healthcare plan, as Nuvigil costs vary among insurance plans. You may need to make contact with your insurance provider or local pharmacy to find out exactly how much you'll still owe for Nuvigil with insurance. Then, ask how much the cash price of Nuvigil is. This total could be lower without any insurance coverage at all. Add a SingleCare Nuvigil coupon on top of that price and get your Nuvigil prescription filled for as low as $38.07.

Does Medicare cover Nuvigil and how much does it cost?

Is there a generic of Nuvigil?

Nuvigil is a brand-name prescription drug and the generic version is armodafinil. SingleCare has coupons for both.

What is Nuvigil?

Nuvigil is an FDA-approved prescription medication used to reduce extreme sleepiness caused by narcolepsy and other sleep disorders. It can also be used to assist you in staying awake while you're on the job if you have a schedule that limits you from having a regular sleep routine, otherwise known as shift work sleep disorder. Nuvigil is not a cure for sleep disorders and may not get rid of all of your sleepiness. It also does not reduce or replace the need for sleeping enough.

Nuvigil is not meant to be used to prevent sleep or to treat tiredness, especially for people who do not suffer from a sleep disorder. It is unclear how Nuvigil actually works but it is believed that it works by affecting certain substances in your brain that control the sleep/wake cycle.

This medication usually comes in the form of an oral tablet and should be taken as advised by your doctor. You can use it with or without food but it may take longer to work if taken with food. Let your healthcare professional know about all other medications that you're currently using before you start taking Nuvigil. This way, your doctor can examine possible complications with your existing medications and advise you on the best way forward with your treatment.

What are the side effects of Nuvigil?

While Nuvigil may be effective in reducing sleepiness, it may also cause some unwanted side effects. These may include nausea, dry mouth, headaches, nervousness, difficulty sleeping, tremor, or dizziness. If you experience any of these side effects and they worsen or persist, you should contact your pharmacist or healthcare professional immediately.

Allergic reactions to this medication are very rare. However, you should seek medical help immediately if you notice any signs of a serious allergic reaction such as swollen lymph nodes, rash, or itching. This is not a complete list of possible side effects. You should check with your doctor for medical advice before taking Nuvigil to ensure that you're aware of all the risks and benefits.
