What is Methylin?
Methylin (methylphenidate) is a brand-name stimulant for patients with ADHD (attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder). Methylin increases chemicals in the brain, called neurotransmitters, that are responsible for attention, focus, and impulse control. As a result, Methylin helps relieve the inattentiveness, hyperactivity, lack of focus, and impulse control typical of ADHD.
Methylin is also commonly used to treat the symptoms of narcolepsy, a rare condition in which patients have sudden attacks of sleepiness or muscle weakness and paralysis.
Methylin is taken as an oral solution throughout the day.
What are the side effects of Methylin?
