Ingrezza is a prescription drug used to treat certain symptoms of tardive dyskinesia (TD). TD is a disorder that results in involuntary, repetitive body movements. This may include grimacing, sticking out the tongue, or smacking the lips. Ingrezza belongs to the VMAT inhibitor drug class and works by blocking certain chemicals in the body that may be involved with involuntary muscle movement.
Before taking Ingrezza make sure you inform your doctor if you have heart disease, long QT syndrome or other heart rhythm disorder, congestive heart failure, had a heart attack. liver disease or other liver problems, or kidney disease.
