Serotonin syndrome is more likely to occur with a dosage change or when two or more medications that affect serotonin levels are taken together.

Like any antidepressant, Escitalopram Oxalate can increase the risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Family and caregivers should monitor the patient closely for any changes in mood or behavior, or suicidal thoughts or behaviors.
