Diflucan is an FDA-approved prescription medication used to treat certain types of serious yeast (fungal) infections such as oral thrush, vaginal candida (vaginal yeast infection), urinary tract infections due to candida, or peritonitis.
Diflucan works by killing the fungus or yeast and preventing its growth. Diflucan is only available by a doctor’s prescription and should be used as prescribed. Your infection may not clear up if you stop using Diflucan before the prescribed time. Diflucan can be used by both adults and children.
