What is Clodan?
Clodan is a prescription shampoo that relieves itching, swelling, and redness due to moderate to severe scalp psoriasis, a condition in which skin cells grow too actively and build up into dry and itchy patches. The active ingredient in Clodan, clobetasol propionate, belongs to a class of drugs called corticosteroids, which prevent the body from releasing chemicals that produce swelling. When absorbed into the scalp, Clodan reduces the swelling that causes the itching and discomfort of dandruff.
Clodan is self-administered and is applied to dry scalp on the affected area and left in place for 15 minutes. It is then washed out. The Clodan kit also includes a moisturizing hair and body cleanser to wash out the hair after applying Clodan.
