Signs and symptoms of Demodex blepharitis include eyelid redness, irritation, swelling, and misdirected eyelashes as well as the presence of eyelash collarettes, a type of dandruff that includes cells, mite eggs, and mite waste. Demodex blepharitis can cause irritation, eyelash distension or loss, and swelling, which can be uncomfortable. Demodex blepharitis should only be diagnosed and treated by an eye care professional.
