Norepinephrine Bitartrate warnings

  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have heart rhythm problems, asthma, blood clots, high blood pressure, or an allergy to sulfites.

  • This medicine may cause the following problems:Tissue ischemia (low blood supply to the tissue), which may lead to gangrene (skin or tissue damage) of the arm or legHeart rhythm problems

  • Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.

  • Pain, itching, swelling, burning or a lump under your skin where the needle is placed.

  • Slow or uneven heartbeat.

  • Vomiting, or severe stomach pain.

Norepinephrine Bitartrate interactions

  • Some medicines can affect how norepinephrine works. Tell your doctor if you are using any of the following:Medicine to treat depression (including an MAO inhibitor, TCA)Oral diabetes medicine

  • This medicine contains sodium metabisulfite, a sulfite that may cause an allergic reaction. Make sure your doctor knows if you have had an allergic reaction to sulfite in the past.

  • Make sure your doctor knows if you have asthma or high blood pressure. Tell your doctor if you have other medical problems.

Serious Side Effects

  • Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing

  • Fainting, dizziness, or lightheadedness

  • Fast, pounding, or uneven heartbeat

  • Numbness, pain, or tingling of the fingers or toes

  • Pain, itching, swelling, burning, or redness of the skin where the needle is placed

  • Vomiting, or severe stomach pain.

Less Serious Side Effects

  • Anxiety, headache

  • Increased sweating
