What is Ketoconazole used for?

Ketoconazole is an azole antifungal used to treat serious fungal infections such as blastomycosis, coccidioidomycosis, histoplasmosis and chromomycosis. It is also used to treat other conditions as prescribed by your doctor. Ketoconazole should only be used when treatment with other antifungal medications are unsuccessful. It is indicated for use by adults and children 2 years and older. This medication is available as a tablet.
