What is Hylavite?
Hylavite is a prescription vitamin B complex supplement with eight B vitamins: B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B5 (pantothenic acid), B6 (pyridoxine), B7 (biotin), B9 (folic acid), and B12 (cyanocobalamin). It is prescribed to treat vitamin B deficiency or nutritional deficiency due to illness, pregnancy, injury, or other physiological stress on the body.
The B-vitamins are critical to the body's use of energy as well as tissue and cell growth. Some – vitamins B6, B9, and B12 – are vitally important in maintaining blood health. All the B vitamins are commonly found in foods, but some conditions involving significant physical stress to the body, such as pregnancy, illness, malnutrition, age-related disorders, or injury, may cause a deficiency in B vitamins and a weakening of the body's ability to function.
Hylavite also includes vitamin C, another vital nutrient that, like all the B vitamins, is soluble in water and so is often included with B vitamin supplements.
Hylavite is taken as a tablet once or twice per day.
