Flomax is a brand-name prescription drug that is approved by the FDA for the treatment of signs and symptoms of BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia). Benign prostatic hyperplasia is an enlarged prostate that causes difficulties urinating. This medication is classified as an alpha-blocker and relaxes muscles in the prostate and bladder. Flomax does not decrease the size of the prostate.
This medication is not for use by women and children.
It should be stored at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
Flomax is only available by doctor's prescription and should only be used as prescribed by your doctor. Flomax is recommended to be swallowed whole once daily, 30 minutes after l the same meal each day. Do not chew, crush, or open Flomax capsules.
