What is Cetrotide?

Cetrotide is an FDA-approved prescription medication used to regulate hormone responses in women undergoing fertility treatment. It is usually used in combination with other hormones. This medication works by blocking the release of certain hormones and helps to stop eggs from being released too early. This allows eggs enough time to grow properly. The ingredient in this drug is cetrorelix.

Cetrotide is applied by injection under the skin (subcutaneously) as directed by your doctor. Before you administer this injection, clean the injection site with rubbing alcohol. What are the side effects of Cetrotide?
