What is the brand name of Urea?

Urea is manufactured by Acella Pharmaceuticals, LLC, and Laser Pharmaceuticals, LLC. Urea is sold under brand-name drugs like Aluvea, Aqua Care, Atrac-Tain, and others.

What is Urea?

Urea is used to treat dry or rough skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, corns, callus. It may also be used to treat ingrown nails and it removes dead tissue in some wounds to help wound healing. Urea is known as a keratolytic and it works by increasing moisture in the skin by softening or dissolving the keratin holding the top layer of skin cells together. This effect helps the dead skin cells fall off and helps the skin keep more water in.

Urea topical is available in many different forms (cream, lotion, ointment, liquid, gel, foam, shampoo, and others) for use on the skin or scalp. You should use this drug exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use it in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.

What are the side effects of Urea?

Common side effects associated with Urea include mild itching; or mild burning or stinging. If you experience unusual changes in the skin (blistering, peeling, etc.), or signs of skin infection like redness of the skin and a rash you should stop using Urea immediately and seek medical attention.

An allergic reaction to Urea is rare. However, seek emergency medical help if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including rash, itching or swelling of the face, tongue, or throat, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing.

This is not a complete list of side effects so speak to your doctor or healthcare provider before for medical advice on all possible side effects.
