How to take Santyl

  • Store the medicine in a closed container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light.

  • Your doctor will tell you how much medicine to use. Do not use more than directed.

Completely cover your wound site with the medicine. You should not be able to see the wound under the medicine. Then, follow your doctor's directions for dressing (covering) the wound.

What to do if you miss a dose of Santyl

  • Take a dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until then and take a regular dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up for a missed dose.

  • This medicine is not right for everyone. Do not use it if you had an allergic reaction to collagenase.

  • You should not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to this type of medicine before (such as Panafil® or Gladase®-C), or if you have had an allergic reaction to papain or urea.
