Kyleena is an FDA-approved brand-name hormone-releasing intrauterine device (IUD) that provides birth control for women of reproductive age. The active ingredient (medication) contained in Kyleena, levonorgestrel, is a hormone that is thought to work by changing both the cervical mucus and uterine lining to impede the movement of sperm and prevent the attachment of a fertilized egg. Kyleena can not be used as emergency contraception. A healthcare provider will place Kyleena in the uterus. The price of Kyleena is $1,411.97 for 1, 1 Intrauterine Device Box. Ask the clinic or hospital where you have the Kyleena procedure performed if they will accept a SingleCare Kyleena coupon; you could pay only $1,100.73 for 1, 1 intrauterine device Box.
Our price history metrics are calculated from aggregate prescription data that we receive from all participating pharmacies. This chart updates daily to show new price fluctuations. If a data point is missing from the chart, it is because we do not have enough data to produce a reliable figure.

Kyleena costs around $1,411.97 for 1, 1 Intrauterine Device Box for uninsured customers, but dosages may vary. With a SingleCare Kyleena coupon, you will pay a cash price of only $1,100.73 for 1, 1 intrauterine device Box for the same prescription of Kyleena if the hospital or clinic where you have the Kyleena procedure performed will accept SingleCare.
Your copay for Kyleena with insurance coverage will vary depending on your plan and the dosage required. However, Kyleena may be covered by your health insurance as a medical benefit rather than a prescription drug benefit. Ask the clinic or hospital where you have the Kyleena procedure performed if they will accept a SingleCare Kyleena coupon; you could pay a Kyleena price of only $1,100.73 for 1, 1 intrauterine device Box if they do.
Kyleena is usually not covered under Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage prescription drug plans. If you have a Medicare plan and Kyleena is not covered, ask the clinic or hospital where you have the Kyleena procedure performed if they will accept a SingleCare Kyleena coupon; you could pay only $1,100.73 for 1, 1 intrauterine device Box.
Kyleena is a brand-name levonorgestrel intrauterine system. Similar hormonal IUDs include Skyla, Mirena, and Liletta. These are all brand-name IUDs. Paragard is another type of IUD that is a copper IUD. It does not contain hormones. Generic equivalents of IUDs are not available at this time. Search for these IUDs on the SingleCare website or app for more information and savings coupons.
Kyleena is a brand-name hormone-releasing intrauterine contraceptive device (IUD) that provides birth control for women. The hormone released by Kyleena, levonorgestrel, is thought to work by altering the cervical mucus and the uterine lining. Because of this, sperm has difficulty traveling, and a fertilized egg has difficulty implanting on the uterine lining.
Kyleena is placed in the uterus by a physician or other qualified healthcare provider. Kyleena does not release levonorgestrel until 24 days after insertion. After 24 days, Kyleena releases 17.5 micrograms of levonorgestrel daily, decreasing to 7.4 mcg daily after 5 years. Kyleena must be removed or replaced after five years. At this time, if the patient wants to continue Kyleena, the previous IUD is removed and the healthcare provider can insert a new IUD.
Common side effects of levonorgestrel include but are not limited to vaginal inflammation/yeast infections, irregular menstrual cycle or no menses, acne, ovarian cysts, anxiety, stomach pain, headache, depression, nausea, vomiting, breast pain/tenderness, weight gain, decreased interest in sex, and painful intercourse.
Allergic reactions to Kyleena are rare. People who experience signs of an allergic reaction such as hives, shortness of breath, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, should get emergency medical help right away.
The IUD itself is a medical device, unlike other forms of birth control, such as birth control pills. IUDs may cause short periods, no periods, irregular bleeding, and symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS). The most serious problems with IUDs include the device coming out of place from the body, perforation of the uterus, and pelvic inflammatory disease if bacteria are introduced into the uterus by the initial insertion procedure.
Tell your doctor or healthcare professional about your medical history and all of the medical conditions you have, as Kyleena is not safe for everyone.
This is not a full list of side effects, and others may occur. Ask your doctor for additional medical advice or questions before taking Kyleena.
When using Kyleena, women still ovulate in most cases. Although many forms of birth control prevent ovulation, IUDs like Kyleena work locally on cervical mucus and uterine lining, which makes it harder for sperm to travel, and for fertilized eggs to implant.
