What is Diethylpropion Hcl?
Diethylpropion Hcl is used together with diet and exercise to aid in weight loss for people who have a body mass index (BMI) of at least 30 kilograms per square meter. This drug is usually given to severely overweight patients when exercising and dieting alone have failed to treat obesity. It has not been entirely determined how Diethylpropion Hcl works but it is thought to decrease your appetite, increase the amount of energy used by your body, or by affecting certain parts of the brain. This drug is an appetite suppressant and belongs to the sympathomimetic amines class of drugs.
If you are in an agitated state, or if you have pulmonary hypertension, severe coronary artery disease, overactive thyroid, glaucoma, severe high blood pressure, or a history of drug abuse then you should not use Diethylpropion Hcl.
