Abraxane is administered by a healthcare professional as an infusion into a vein. For the treatment of breast cancer, this medication is usually given once every three weeks. Ultimately, your doctor will determine the length of your treatment based on an assessment of your current medical condition, other drugs you are currently taking, and your response to treatment.
Abraxane may lower your blood cell count, which can be severe and result in infection or sepsis. Your blood will need to be tested often to monitor your blood cell count levels. Talk to your doctor directly for more information on this medication.
