Primaxin Iv contraindications

  • This medicine is not right for everyone. You should not receive it if you had an allergic reaction to imipenem or cilastatin. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any other antibiotic, especially a penicillin or cephalosporin.

  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, seizures or similar nervous system conditions, or allergies.

  • This medicine can cause diarrhea. Call your doctor if the diarrhea becomes severe, does not stop, or is bloody. Do not take any medicine to stop diarrhea until you have talked to your doctor. Diarrhea can occur 2 months or more after you stop taking this medicine.

  • Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse.

  • Seizures, confusion, tremors

  • Some medicines and foods can affect how this drug works. Tell your doctor if you are also using any of the following: GanciclovirSeizure medicine, including divalproex sodium or valproic acid Probenecid

  • This medicine can cause diarrhea. Call your doctor if the diarrhea becomes severe, does not stop, or is bloody. Do not take any medicine to stop diarrhea until you have talked to your doctor. Diarrhea can occur 2 months or more after you stop taking this medicine.

  • Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse.
