Onexton is a topical gel that works on inflammatory and noninflammatory acne. This topical gel is made with clindamycin phosphate and benzoyl peroxide. For the best results, use Onexton once a day in the morning or at night.
Clean your face gently with a mild cleanser and water and pat the skin dry before using Onexton. After using Onexton, ensure you wash your hands thoroughly to avoid Onexton getting into your mouth or eyes.
Do not use Onexton gel if you have inflammation of the colon (colitis), ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, or a history of acute diarrhea caused by using antibiotics. Consult your healthcare provider if you are uncertain if you have one of these conditions.
It is not known whether Onexton gel is safe and effective for use longer than 12 weeks or in children younger than 12 years of age.
When using Onexton, different people may experience different side effects, however, the most common side effect is skin irritation. This irritation may range from moderate to severe. Stop using Onexton gel immediately and call a healthcare professional if your skin becomes red, itchy, or swollen or if a skin rash appears.
During treatment with Onexton, limit sun exposure, including tanning beds. If you have to be in the sun, wear protective clothing and a hat, and apply sunscreen frequently.
