What is Fulphila?
Fulphila is used to prevent neutropenia caused by chemotherapy. Neutropenia is a condition where a person has low levels of neutrophils, which are a type of white blood cells. This medication is a form of protein that stimulates the growth of white blood cells that help your body fight against infections and supports immunity. The active ingredient in this FDA-approved medication is pegfilgrastim.
Fulphila is available in the form of a subcutaneous solution. It is given by injection under the skin, as directed by your doctor. It is usually given once during each chemotherapy cycle. However, it should not be given within 14 days before or 24 hours after chemotherapy. Talk to your doctor for specific directions about when to use this medication.
