Cefaclor Er is a generic extended-release prescription antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. Cefaclor Er belongs to a class of drugs called cephalasporins, which, like penicillin drugs, kill bacteria by interfering with their ability to form a cell wall. As cell walls deteriorate, the contents of the bacteria cells spill out and the cells die.
